Résumé : "In a world of ever widening economic growth, pressure on natural resources mounts inexorably and rapid socio-economic transitions generate social problems and conflicts. At the same time, increasing global integration, human development, and technical innovation hold the promise of solutions driven by business and governments. Over three decades after its inception, the concepts of sustainable development and sustainability have become widely popular, but remains fuzzy and multifaceted. Yet, its evocative power and versatility lend it considerable appeal and it is widely co-opted to cover a diverse range of applications and practices. The remarkable emergence of Asian cities and businesses in the global economy brings new challenges and perspectives to the table."
